University of Kent

I’m Kate, and I will be the Secretary of the Student Advisory Group from January. I am a first year PhD student at the University of Kent, studying History. My thesis is on female perpetrators of the Holocaust; I am focusing particularly on the female doctors who participated in the human experiments that took place at concentration camps during the Third Reich.

I am a second-year Music researcher. As part of the SAG, I would like to make sure students’ views and opinions are realised within CHASE and that we all have a unique and valuable experience as a part of this group. Together with other CHASE students from Goldsmiths, I am looking forward to hosting the Encounters conference at our university in June 2018!

Open University

I am a full-time CHASE scholarship student at the Open University entering the second half of my PhD thesis. Although formally based within the Classical Studies department, my work is interdisciplinary by nature and explores the contrasting depictions of slavery in two very different ancient world television dramas, HBO’s Rome (2005-7) and Starz’s Spartacus (2010-13).
